Inner Peace

You must find inner peace before you can move on from your past.  It has been a common theme in self-help books that in order for you to change for the better, you must accept who you are unconditionally.  Self-acceptance is the first step to self-improvement where you have to embrace all the weaknesses and negative sides of you that need changing.  You will free yourself from blaming and complaining why life seems to be unfair with all the unfortunate things that have come your way.  The inner peace allows you to see opportunities on how to reinvent yourself.  You may not have a good beginning, but it is who you are at the present moment that is most important to determine who you are going to be in the future.  Make peace with yourself.  Set yourself free.

Where have you been?

When this is the only life that we have, why don’t we give it the best shot?  This question strikes me home lately.  A person can spend his time lamenting on his weaknesses and shortcomings when he compares himself with others who seem to have perfect life.  Every time I see people who have already worked hard to do what they are meant to do, I ask myself, what have I done to myself?  People are already being excellent and living their best life.  What has stopped me to be great? I have the right to do just the same thing. To start, we should be aware of the talents that we have and see whether or not we have used it to the fullest. I come up with a conclusion that is, while I can’t change some aspects of my life, why is it that I am not improving those that I already have?  In other words, I should stop repining and start focusing on my strengths.  Reason being, when you change your thoughts you will change your mind and when you have changed your mind you are starting to unfold your potentials to change your life for the better.  Another lyric of a song comes up on my mind; what are you doing for the rest of your life?

Rain on your skin

Life is not about what happens to us but how we are reacting to it.  This is the sum of what I read in motivational books on how we should be in control of our lives instead of allowing some automatic programs to take over from the back of our mind.  If we can master ourselves, it is when wisdom will be revealed.  Where we are now is the result of the choices we made in the past.  This reminds me of a  song that I used to sing to remind me about how we are responsible for our own happiness and we are given a fair share of making decision to choose where roads in life may lead us.  The song goes “Feel the rain on your skin, no one else can feel it for you, only you can let it in, no one else can speak the words on your lips, drench yourself in words unspoken, live your life with arms wide open, today is where your book begin, the rest is still unwritten.  Destiny may overrule but we still have choices to make.

Life in a cup

This blog is about life. An expression on how it should be enjoyed moment-to -moment to the fullest by appreciating little things that will make life more meaningful even with a cup of coffee for example.  I like the idea of sitting on a chair, in countryside, reading my favourite book with a refreshing drink, overlooking a river and above is the blue sky with patches of clouds.  Hence, that is how the title of this first entry comes into conception.  We can be carried away by daily commitment and routine day in and day out.  It is time to pause for a minute and start being aware and get control of what we are doing with life.  Therefore, everyday should be a celebration of life by finding purpose, knowing oneself and realizing dream.  Then, perhaps one will be finally living his life to the fullest.
